Elizabeth Butler – Argentina & Chile Brand Specialist, Vine Connections
Elizabeth entered the wine industry in 2012 via the food industry. After working for America?s Test Kitchen and Cook?s Illustrated Magazine in Boston, she gained more hands-on experience in agriculture working on an organic fruit orchard in Colorado.
She then moved to Boulder and while teaching classes at the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts and running their Farmer?s Market program, Elizabeth got the itch to travel and to learn more about international cuisine.
With her degree in Spanish and Linguistic Anthropology, her path led her to South America to work at the Escuela Argentina de Vinos wine school in Buenos Aires. Soon after, she was offered the opportunity to work at the Catena Zapata winery in Mendoza, Argentina and she leapt at the chance. Elizabeth lived and worked in Mendoza for Catena until crossing the Andes to be the US Brand Ambassador for Vin?a Mayu in the Elqui Valley of Chile.
Back in the states, Elizabeth launched the Mayu brand in the US in 2013. She then came on the Vine Connections team full time to be a part of their marketing department and serve as the Ambassador for their New Chile portfolio. Today as Vine Connection?s Argentina & Chile Brand Specialist, Elizabeth combines her marketing skills of writing, photography, Spanish and South American wine expertise to support the education and sales of their pioneering premium Argentine & Chilean portfolio in the US. Elizabeth also leads educational trips for distributors and key trade in Argentina & Chile every harvest.
In her free time, Elizabeth loves being outdoors ? exploring her passions of trail running, hiking, farming and photography. She also loves writing, language, travel, baking and storytelling. She is an unabashed food and wine nerd…and wants to sit down with you with a glass of wine and hear your story.
