Come taste Turley's selection of terroir-driven wines and find out why their reputation is so established worldwide.
About the winery: Turley Wine Cellars was founded in Napa Valley by former emergency room physician Larry Turley in 1993. Under the direction of winemaker Tegan Passalacqua, Turley now makes 50 different wines from over 50 vineyards across California, primarily Zinfandel and Petite Sirah, with many vines dating back to the late 1800s. By farming organically and focusing on old vine vineyards of these varieties, Turley aims to both create and preserve California’s unique winemaking culture.
About the Speaker: The oldest of Larry’s four daughters, Christina spent summers growing up working beside her father in the winery. She moved to New York to attend Barnard College at Columbia University, and graduated in 2006 with a BA in Art History. After a brief stint at Matthew Marks Gallery, she buckled down and finally got serious about wine, becoming a Certified Sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers and passing the WSET Advanced program with Honors. She became entrenched in the NYC restaurant scene and eventually worked her way up to become the beverage director for the Momofuku Restaurant Group. After 8 years in New York her father finally guilted her into returning to her roots, and following a temporary period as a sales representative for Chambers & Chambers Wine Merchants, Christina joined Turley full time in 2010. She has since been named to both Forbes' "30 Under 30" and Wine Enthusiast's "40 Under 40." Please RSVP quickly, as seating is limited.
